Carroll's wife Liz passed away just 13 days ago. Carroll was a lifetime member of the Junior Order. He served as our State Councilor in 1995. Many of you may remember that he used to travel to different Councils to administer the initiation years ago as the doctor. Oh the fun we had. Carroll served as a National Representative and was on the National Finance Committee from 2016 to 2021. Carroll was still active in Rockport Council and was very instrumental in keeping Rockport Council open recently.. He will be greatly missed.

Elizabeth Ann Bonnett Obituary
Beloved wife, mother and heart of our family Elizabeth Ann Bonnett, 80 of Rockport, WV. passed away February 20, 2026 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimers.

She was born October 1, 1945 in Pee Wee, WV. a daughter of the late Donald Enoch and Lora Sullivan Enoch. She retired from Kmart. She attended Limestone Gospel Fellowship when able. Elizabeth was a devoted wife, mother, mamaw and homemaker throughout all of her life.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Carroll L. Bonnett of Rockport; Her children, Robert Bonnett (Tammy) of Rockport and Tina Evans (Kevin) of Mineral Wells; Four grandchildren, Aren, David Evans (Britney), Matthew and Angel Bonnett; Sister in laws, Sandra Enoch of Elizabeth and Ruby Bonnett of Vienna as well as many nieces and nephews and a daughter chosen by love, Diana Pierce of Vincent, OH.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Floyd and Frank Enoch and sister in law, Alice Enoch Kyer.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:00pm at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg with Reverend Everett Snyder officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:00am until service time at 1:00pm.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association PO. Box 96011 Washington, DC. 20090-6011

The West Virginia Junior Order of United American Mechanics held their 136th State Convention on August 14-16, 2025 at Cedar Lakes Convention Center in Ripley, West Virginia.
Members, including our National Councilor Dale Dailey, were present for a banquet on the evening of August 14th. After opening ceremonies, our State Councilor Jeanne Dolin spoke on how good it was to see each other and to be able to enjoy each other’s company.
On August 15th, a memorial service was held in honor of the members who have passed away within the last year. A business meeting was held in which the members introduced and voted on resolutions that will help guide the WV State Council next year. New officers were also elected for the upcoming year and discussions were made for the future use of technology.
On August 16th, new officers were installed, and the new State Councilor David Dolin shared an insight of George Washington and his ability to become one of the most famous patriots in history.
The 137th West Virginia State Convention of the West Virginia Junior Order of United American Mechanics will be held on August 20-22, 2026 at a location to be determined.

There were 26 members present for the session along with Guests PNC Richard Beppler, wife Mary Ann Beppler and Son Ronald Lesavage.
The session included music by DJ Phil Chapman, a member of Council #182 during the opening banquet Thursday evening and formal Dinner Banquet on Friday evening.
District 2 Booster will be hosting the 2026 State Convention - August 20, 21, and 22, 2026.

Cedar Lakes Conference Center located at 82 FFA Drive in Ripley West Virginia.

The rates:
Mountaineer Lodge (2 Double Beds) - $85.00 night + tax. Cedars Lodge – (Single Beds) $75.00 night + tax.
They are holding a block of rooms for the Junior Order until June 20, 2025.
Check in is 2:00PM and check out is 10:00AM

To make your reservations call the Cedar Lakes Conference Center (304-372-7860) and be sure to let them know you are with the Junior Order to get our special room rate.

No Golf Outing is on the agenda, however there is a mini golf course on the grounds for any that wants to play. (play is free)

Arrangements for the Past State Councilor's luncheon are underway, we anticipate a collection of $25.00 for the luncheon and flower fund.
We are having a reception banquet for Thursday evening and a State Session banquet for Friday evening. The State Session banquet is free to members attending the State Session. The cost to non-members will be $30.00 per person. Plans for entertainment for the opening night and the banquet are underway.
Breakfast will be available at no cost on Friday and Saturday.

Chinese auction and door prizes on Friday night.
Tickets are available at registration table and the banquet evening.
