Yorktown Council # 66Poquoson, VA

RE:       JOUAM-JACKIE DIGGS MEMORIAL GOLF TOURNAMENT
Dear Golfers:

The JOUAM is a non-profit organization and is one of the country’s oldest fraternal organizations.  It was founded on the principles of Virtue, Liberty and Patriotism.  Some of our main focuses of today are supporting our School System and aiding the people in the community.

Each year, we hold a golf tournament to raise funding for our Scholarship Fund, which benefits a graduating senior from Poquoson High School or another local high school.  Our event this year will be September 28, 2019 12:00PM at Cypress Creek Golf Course in Smithfield, VA.  In 2018, we were able to not only award our Scholarship, but made a donation to another worthy student to assist with their continuing education costs. In addition, some of the funds were used to help needy families in the community with food, heating and other necessities during their time of need as well as sending a Boy and Girl to Boys State and Girls State (a summer leadership and citizenship program).   We also donated to the American Red Cross for Hurricane Michael Relief efforts.

We are looking to help raise money for our tournament by getting local businesses to sponsor a hole.  We will have 3 separate tiers of sponsorship.  The Platinum ($1,000.00 or above donation), the Gold ($500.00 donation), and Silver ($250.00 donation).  Platinum sponsors will have a hole of their own and top billing in our before & after recognitions.  Gold Sponsors will have their own hole, to the extent we can, while Silver sponsors will be paired up with another sponsor.  We have professionally made signs on each hole promoting our sponsor for that hole.  We welcome all sponsors to attend the event and will be announcing all of the sponsors both pre- and post event.

If you would like to sponsor a hole, please contact me at (757) 868-4360 (home), e-mail [email protected] or simply make your donation payable to:

I look forward to hearing from you and thank you in advance for supporting our event.

Sincerely,
Scott D. Fraser
Chairman-Scholarship Committee, Chairman-Fall Golf Tournament
The Golf Tournament for Yorktown Council # 66 held September 28, 2019 was very successful, even though it was very warm that day.  It is the Jr. Order  council # 66's main fund raiser for the year.  We are thankful for everyone who played in the tournament and also for the members of the Council for there efforts.
