Jr. Order United American Mechanics 515 Harry Street, Knoxville, TN 37919 E-mail: nationalcouncil@comcast.net March 20, 2017 Dear Brothers and Sisters; Each of you have heard me, your National Councilor, ask for your help in many ways over the past two years. In the waning month until my successor is elected, I ask once again for your help. Our continued success in making the Junior Order a better organization rests upon you, our valued members. Although many of our State and local secretaries have stepped forward and prepared the articles for our new “Hello Neighbor” brochure, many have not. The same is true for our National web page. If you are one of the States or local Councils who has not done anything in this regard, I ask that you get in touch with our National Secretary and assist us in completing these two important tasks that definitely make us look more up to date and professional as a 2017 patriotic, community oriented organization. In my travels as National Councilor, I became acutely aware of our lack of knowledge of our State and National government representatives. These people are representing each of us and believe it or not want your input into what is happening within your State and in Washington, DC. To keep yourself informed, you simply need to contact them with your email address. Let them know that you are a Junior Order United American Mechanics member who is interested in our government and its activities concerning us. This also opens a venue for your message to be heard as well as it gives us the opportunity to portray our thoughts to them through their media. We have become, like it or not, an internet driven society with everyone wanting the latest happenings as soon as possible. The attitude today seems to be the faster, the better. This is yet another reason why each State and each local Council needs to take advantage of using our new web page to help make your community aware of the Junior Order and its beliefs. If each then uses the new “Hello Neighbor” brochure with your State and local Council information included, you can quickly provide information to those who may be interested in becoming a member. So, one last time, I say let’s get these things done for hopefully a brighter future for our Junior Order United American Mechanics. Fraternally yours, Dennis Everett National Councilor |
